Further Seems Forever Announces ‘How To Start A Fire’ 2016 With Select Dates Across The U.S.!

Further Seems Forever has announced they will stop in 9 cities to perform the band’s sophomore album How To Start A Fire in its entirety. The first time the band has hit the stage together in almost ten years, this tour kicks off on March 10th in Atlanta, GA and wraps up on March 20th in San Francisco, CA. Additionally, VIP ticket bundles are available and include one general admission ticket, a souvenir laminate, meet & greet access as well as a screen printed poster to be signed at the meet & greet. Fans can purchase the VIP bundle exclusively, here: http://bit.ly/1JNmy0N. For more information on Further Seems Forever, please visit: http://furtherseemsforever.com.

When asked about the tour, bassist Chad Neptune said: “Further Seems Forever was a lot of things… and for a lot of people ‘How To Start A Fire’ is what it was. Jason, Steve, Derick & I toured the world in this incarnation more than any other. We met a lot of people and slept on a lot of their floors. Things ended very abrupt with Jason to say the least. I think we realized that there was a contingent of our fans that wanted to see Jason again. This is also therapeutic for us.”

Some books are better left unfinished while others empty pages leave us wondering, “what happened?” The book of Further Seems Forever has had many dramatic chapters, a revolving cast of characters and one main plot point that endured throughout: incredible, innovative and passionate songs that could make the most introverted person belt out their lyrics. In 2003 you would be hard pressed to find someone not belting out “Let’s set this city ablaze!” which are the opening words to the band’s second record, How To Start A Fire. The album sold over 100,000 copies in the US alone. For the next two years, Further Seems Forever hit the road with a fire and a fury rarely seen by their peers. Touring with bands such as New Found Glory, Elliott, Hot Rod Circuit, Thursday, Coheed & Cambria and so many more, the band solidified themselves as a leader in their genre. Too often the case with creative, passionate people, life on the road began to take its toll on the members of the band. Jason Gleason, Derek Cordoba, Chad Neptune and Steve Kleisath made incredible music together but on the heels of what would be their biggest headline tour to date (The Tooth and Nail Tour with support from Anberlin), the music stopped. Tensions between the members had reached a critical point and Gleason had decided to leave the band. While the band continued on with new singer, Jon Bunch, many fans were left with an incomplete feeling. This wasn’t how it was meant to end and over ten years later, Further Seems Forever is back with Jason Gleason and ready to finish the chapter that is How To Start a Fire.

Further Seems Forever is Jason Gleason (vocals), Derick Cordoba (guitar), Chad Neptune (bass), and Steven Kleisath (drums).

The Life Electric Premieres New Single “Heartbeat” via idobi Radio!

Boston rockers, The Life Electric have premiered their brand new single “Heartbeat” today via idobi Radio, here: http://bit.ly/1ZNSndP. The song comes from the band’s highly anticipated new album The Real You, which is set to be released March 25th, 2016, and showcases the band’s unique indie-rock-meets-electro-pop sound. Check out first single “Gone, Gone, Gone” on New Noise Magazine, here: http://bit.ly/1IJX4Rt. For more information, please visit: www.thelifeelectricmusic.com.

On their new song, the band tells us: “Heartbeat is the classic confessional. A straight ahead pop song that’s always been a favorite to play. This one has a special place in our hearts because it’s the first song we ever Recorded with Brian Charles at Zippah.

The Life Electric was born in 2011 when former Action Verbs frontman Joey Chehade met up with three-fifths of indie rock act Gold Star Morning. Now consisting of Joey Chehade (vocals), Ben Leang (guitar), Cory Bean (bass), and Joel Silloway (drums), The Life Electric brings a sound that’s been uniquely described as a combination of modern disco, The Flaming Lips, and pure fucking rock.

The band first started to draw attention with their self-titled debut release in May of 2012. They quickly followed it up with the Calico EP in early 2013, and have since opened for national acts like Neon Trees, Cracker, and Marcy Playground, and have had the honor of playing Boston’s Rock and Roll Rumble.

The Bergamot Premieres New Single “Tones” via Baeble Music!

Brooklyn-based alternative folk duo The Bergamot has premiered their brand new single “Tones,” via Baeble Music. You can listen to the title track from their forthcoming album Tones – out February 11th, 2016 – today, here: http://bit.ly/1QmV5V7. The band was previously featured on idobi Radio for lead single “Forget About Tomorrow.” For more information on The Bergamot, please visit: www.thebergamot.com

On “Tones,” the band tells us: “Tones is about the disconnect our generation faces with technology becoming so ubiquitous and prevalent in our daily lives. Tones attempts to challenge the current way of living, with a calling to reach out to each other as opposed to disconnecting ourselves from reality.

The Bergamot recently wrapped their highly successful The Unity Collective USA Kickstarter campaign, which surpassed its goal of $15,000 towards the band’s upcoming 50 State “Unity Tour,” raising more than 109% of the funds needed. The money raised will be used to maintain the band’s Volvo throughout the tour, in addition to documenting the entire experience and providing updates to fans along the way. At each stop, The Bergamot will be inviting fans to sign their car as a symbol of unity. The “Unity Tour” kicked off in NYC on January 2nd, 2016, and will conclude with a homecoming in South Bend, IN on April 2nd. It also marks the band’s last tour in their 2002 Volvo, which has racked up over 271,000 miles throughout their history of touring. The Volvo will be auctioned off at the tour’s final stop, with all proceeds going towards Memorial Children’s Hospital.

Consisting of husband-and-wife duo Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece, The Bergamot arrived on the international music scene in 2012 when they won Bud Light Battle of the Bands. Since then, the band has seen their popularity balloon, taking them from coast to coast and from continent to continent.

Drawing upon influences such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, The Dave Matthews Band and Bob Dylan, The Bergamot writes songs that are uplifting, catchy, and enchanting as Jillian’s velvety alto voice blends seamlessly with Nathaniel’s ethereal vocals to create dynamic harmonies. The band weaves intimate storytelling with articulate instrumentation, crafting an innovative indie folk-rock sound that combines both the joys and heartaches of life into a story. Since meeting in their hometown of South Bend, Indiana in 2003, Nathaniel and Jillian have released three albums and toured extensively across North America and Europe.

Thanks to their uplifting and infectiously sweet sound, The Bergamot has been taking the music world by storm – earning the affection and admiration of BuzzFeed, Daytrotter, The Aquarian Weekly, ICON Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Brooklyn Vegan, Kings of A&R, The Deli Magazine, and so many more, as well as a recent placement on ABC’s “Blood & Oil.” The Bergamot have also opened up for artists such as All American Rejects, Young The Giant, and Ben Sollee, as well as performed at SXSW, Taste of Chicago, The Traverse City Film Festival, and Bud Lights Port Paradise Music Festival.

The Bergamot will be releasing their new album Tones on February 11th, 2016. For more information on The Bergamot, please visit: www.thebergamot.com.

The Christopher Brothers Premiere New Single + Music Video For “The Girl Next Door” On Just Jared Jr.!

Teen pop/rock trio, The Christopher Brothers, are excited to premiere their new single and video for “The Girl Next Door” with Just Jared Jr. Watch the video here: http://bit.ly/1OoZbre. “The Girl Next Door” is off the band’s new album, Dog Daze, out February 12, 2016. For more information, please visit: http://www.thechristopherbrothers.com/

“The song came about when there was someone new moving in next door,” explains drummer Cameron Christopher of the story behind the new single. “I noticed a girl moving things into the house and then I got the idea to write a song about ‘the girl next door.’ I was in the kitchen and I just started singing ‘The Girl Next Door, The Girl Next Door / I fell in love, fell in love with the Girl Next Door.’”

At the impressively young ages of 19, 17, and 14, The Christopher Brothers – composed of Cameron Christopher (vocals, drums) Charles Christopher (vocals, guitar), and Ethan Christopher (vocals, bass) – write, play, and produce their own music, a notable feat in today’s industry. This Los Angeles teen band has performed extensively, touring throughout the United States at Six Flags, malls, fairs, festivals, clubs, schools and more, all while accruing a massive social media following and avid fanbase. Their remarkable performance resume includes venues such as the world famous Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, and LEGOLAND California, as well as opening for music legends Spyro Gyra, Al Jarreau and WAR at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival. In 2013, The Christopher Brothers made it to the top 20 of the group category on X Factor with great praises from Simon Cowell on their original song “Smile”. Marking only the beginning for this up-and-coming group, The Christopher Brothers’ song “And Now I’m In Love Again” off their second EP, Smile, is currently on rotation in supermarkets and Walgreen’s throughout the US.

The band’s upcoming album, Dog Daze, features eight original songs, in addition to a cover of Blind Melon’s 90s hit, “No Rain”. The infectious melodies of California alt-pop have never sounded so irresistible with their fun and upbeat take on life and romance, making The Christopher Brothers a necessary band to watch in 2016.

OHLAYINDIGO Premiere “Love You To The Moon” With Kick Kick Snare!

Scandinavian electro-pop duo, Ohlayindigo, are thrilled to premiere their new single, “Love You To The Moon”, with Kick Kick Snare Stream the track here: http://bit.ly/1PNr3ty. Ohlayindigo will be releasing a full debut EP in the summer of 2016. For more information, please visit: http://www.ohlayindigo.com/

Ohlayindigo is a San Francisco-based electronic pop duo from Oslo, Norway, composed of singer and songwriter Hanna Ponth, and drummer Zak Shrapnell. Ponth was selected to partake in a songwriting session with Sir Paul McCartney, based on her songwriting credentials and merit obtained while studying at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. During the session, she sang with him and he helped her work on the first single, “Love You To The Moon”, which he was very impressed by.

“The track explores the themes of endless love, and dedication to someone,” explains Shrapnell of the inspiration for “Love You To The Moon”. “It describes how sometimes it can be difficult to explain just how much someone means to you, hence why we sometimes say ‘I love you to the moon and back.’

Ponth originally developed Ohlayindigo as her artistic alter ego to live out her eccentric dreams and artistic musings. Together with Zak, the two came up with the name ‘Ohlayindigo’, laden with meaning: ‘Indigo’ for evoking atmosphere and emotion, which is quintessential in their music, ‘lay’ referring to an old English word for a sung poem, and ‘oh’ for full sound.

Ohlayindigo’s lyrics are inspired by lived life, people’s stories, feelings and emotions. The rich electronic soundscape highlights and gives depth to each nuance of Ponth’s lyrics, making the music a thorough and impassioned whole. Ohlayindigo will be releasing new singles in the coming months, leading up to their debut EP out in summer 2016.

Daniel Eyes & The Vibes Premiere New Single + Video For “Dessert Cocaine” On Texas Monthly!

Austin-based indie-rock band, Daniel Eyes & The Vibes, are thrilled to premiere their new single and music video for “Dessert Cocaine” with Texas Monthly. Watch the video here: http://bit.ly/1ZnVjRQ. “Dessert Cocaine” is the first single off of the band’s debut EP, Sweet Dreaming, set for release January 29, 2016. Every few years, a band comes around that puts songwriting at the forefront without sacrificing powerful, in-your-head instrumentals – Daniel Eyes & The Vibes aim to fill that gap. For more information on the band, please visit: http://danieleyes.com/

“’Dessert Cocaine’ is really a metaphor for trying to find the sweet spot in life and not torturing yourself along the way with some form of indulgence or habitual reliance. It’s arguably the most personal song I’ve written,” explains lead vocalist and guitarist, Daniel Eyes. “Hopefully, people relate to the idea of struggle for personal freedom which can, at times, seem harder than ever in today’s world.”

The Sweet Dreaming EP was self-produced by the band’s primary vocalist, songwriter, and guitar player, Daniel Eyes, with additional production from, Travis Kennedy (Walk The Moon, Ryan Adams). Grammy Award winner Gavin Lurssen (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Pharrell, Eric Clapton, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars) mastered the EP. Sweet Dreaming is just four songs of many. “If I could,” says Daniel Eyes, “I would record a full album every few months and have the output be as prolific as the writing.”

After recording several unreleased solo EP’s, Daniel Eyes formed The Vibes alongside drummer Cruz Crase. The pair recruited Russell Simonson on bass, and the addition of guitarist, Dylan Stephens, rounded out the group’s core.

Characterized by high quality songwriting, personality, and raw energy, the band’s music is easily relatable to any listener. Daniel Eyes & The Vibes’ pop-structured rock n’ roll sound is tinged with a blues influence, leaning heavily on older influences such as The Police, Tom Petty, and The Rolling Stones, combined with the modern sensibility of bands like Kurt Vile, Dawes, and Kings of Leon. Frontman Daniel Eyes’ knack for generating concise, tuneful pop songs keeps the band lingering in the minds of the audience far past their initial introduction.

The band’s home base of Austin also holds a strong influence on their music. According to Daniel Eyes, people care about the music scene in a way that is harder to find in other cities: “We pick up little pieces of inspiration from everything we listen to, not to mention great local acts we may not even know the names of.” Austin has been the place for the band to cut their teeth and figure out their identity.

The Routine Announce New EP, Black Tropics!

San Diego rock n’ soul band, The Routine, have announced their sophomore EP, Black Tropics, set for release February 26, 2016. On Black Tropics, the band brings a fresh sound, riding the groove between funk, soul, and African, as well as vintage rock. The EP was produced by Grammy Award winner, Alan Sanderson (The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Switchfoot). For more information, please visit: http://www.theroutineband.com/

The Routine is a five-piece collective that defies categorization. While the band’s first EP, Welcome, showed more of their rock side, Black Tropics boasts a funkier vibe, all the while maintaining that rock influence. The result is a dynamic range of sound, taking the listener on a journey across the world, along the equator.

A sonic melting pot of electric blues, soul and world styling, they are not simply a band—and they are anything but “routine”. Russell Ramo, guitarist and son of Syrian immigrants, explains, “Just by looking at us, you see the story of global artistic culture: Black, White, European, Middle Eastern and Latino. We epitomize diversity and the strength of its unity. Each of us contributes a unique flavor, while still respecting the unified sound of empowering and uplifting music.”

While The Routine officially formed in May of 2013, their musical brotherhood reaches back nearly a decade. Its formation is rooted in the childhood friendship of guitarist Ramo and front man, Bryan Barbarin, an accomplished stage actor in the storied Lamb’s Players Theater circuit of San Diego. After several years of writing, performing and recording together in between plays, Barbarin and Ramo decided it was time to form an ensemble of their own.

Piecing together the collective that would become The Routine was an organic, if not effortless, process. Nick Hein (bass), Eduardo Canelon (percussion), Dave Butterfield (drums) and Russell all played together for several years backing Fela Kuti prodigy, Fidel Bateke, in the afro-beat jazz-fusion band, Bateke Beat. Under Bateke’s tutelage, they refined their chops and formed a kindred fraternity of musicianship. Adding Barbarin introduced the consummate front man: a singer with a natural stage presence and vocals that harness this locomotive of sound with a tone reminiscent of R&B legend, Ernest Evans – only more gritty and purposeful.

Together, The Routine shatters the mold of conventional, over-produced and underwhelming music with their own brand of Rock ‘N’ Soul. Never complacent with the status quo, they are an ever-evolving conglomerate poised to please music lovers from all walks of life.
