Typefighter put forth an arresting rock and roll filled record with their latest LP, “The End of Everything,” but for all its captivating melodies and sing-a-longs, the record was built from the singer Ryan McLaughlin’s grief – losing two close friends (one a former bandmate, one his co-founder of a pie truck the two started together, which Ryan still runs in DC) in quick succession. Honing in on the cathartic process of songcraft during the recording sessions, Typefighter forged an album that makes melodic sense out of emotional chaos. The result is a record with such palpable energy – only challenged by their raucous live show, which has landed them on bills with bands including The So So Glos, Here We Go Magic, Givers, We Were Promised Jetpacks + are about to hit the road with PUP and Chumped for the month of November.
