Started in 2007 in New York City by Dayna Ghiraldi and Paul Travers and most recently expanding to Los Angeles and Philadelphia, Big Picture Media is a company driven by the individuality of our clients and the passion and personality of our staff. We each bring something unique to our campaigns and all truly love what we do.
Armed with a Bachelors degree in public relations from Long Island University, several high profile entertainment internships and an obsession with all outlets of the entertainment industry, BPM president and owner Dayna Ghiraldi took on New York City as her first place of business. Quickly climbing the ladder at her first boutique firm she longed for bigger and better places, which landed her a position at the acclaimed Press Here Publicity.
At Press Here Dayna earned her stripes with A list celebrities and platinum selling artists. It wasn’t long before Dayna was spearheading several successful PR campaigns for a broad spectrum of musicians and carving her own niche within the company for smaller alternative rock bands that received the personal attention Dayna knew they needed.
Bold and passionate, Dayna decided it was time to pave her own way through the entertainment industry, thus Big Picture Media was born in 2007 with nothing more than a laptop and a cell phone. Six years later, Dayna runs and operates all facets of Big Picture Media, where 13 hard working people fill the bustling and vibrant NYC office. In 2012, Big Picture Media expanded to open a new branch of the company focusing on Digital Marketing and Social Media Management and in 2013 BPM announced the opening of the Los Angeles and Philadelphia branches of the company. Dayna has taken her love for all things music, events, non-profit, film and more to plant roots in California to start the Los Angeles office.
Big Picture Media’s most recent adventure was producing a feature length horror film in December of 2012 called OLD 37, starring Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley and Brandi Cyrus. Written and produced by Big Picture Media’s General Manager Paul Travers, the film is currently in postproduction and will see a 2014 release date.
Aside from her absolute love for music and this industry, Dayna is the founder of The Connectors, a networking group dedicated to growing NYC’s film, music, art, fashion, theatre and digital creative community which she plans to take to Los Angeles, an active member of the national organization Ladies Lotto as well as a member of Women In Music and Newsmakers. She never met a dog she didn’t love and is thankful everyday that this is her life.
Now with over 15 years of entertainment industry experience under her belt, a hard working staff behind her, Dayna Ghiraldi and Big Picture Media is dedicated to the client in all capacities, going above and beyond the typical faceless world of publicity, event planning and online marketing.
Rachel Miller transplanted from Philly to NYC in 2009 and shortly after started working at Big Picture Media. Being a lover of all things indie rock, sailing and making her own vintage vinyl wall clocks, Rachel brings her individualized personality to every campaign she works on and is not afraid to use one too many exclamation points in her emails. Her cool calm demeanor always keeps a smile on her face and you will never find her without headphones in her ears. She is a graduate of Drexel University’s Music Industry Program, loves being a publicist and has a true ear for talent. After four years in NYC, Rachel has returned to the City of Brotherly Love to expand the BPM name and take the music scene in the Philadelphia tri-state area by storm.
Amber joined the Big Picture Media family in May 2011, shortly after graduating S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Public Relations. She has an innate ability to know what the next big thing will be and her music taste ranges from indie to hip hop, keeping her festival hopping and traveling throughout the year. She will be the last girl standing at a show just to hear that final note being played and applies that dedication and passion to her clients everyday.
With a knack for organizing and a love for music, its no wonder Becky Sahm ended up a passionate and dedicated publicist. Growing up in a musical household in Bethesda, MD, Becky headed to New Orleans to attend Tulane University and was producing her own music festival, booking nationally touring acts, and working at the city’s top music venue before graduating college. Migrating to Brooklyn shortly thereafter, Becky started at Big Picture Media in 2011 and has a diverse roster of clients including music festivals, massive NYC tasting events, music documentaries, and of course, rock bands spanning every genre. Beyond live music, she has a love for anything Steve Jobs created, politics, and Tina Fey.
A graduate of Drexel University, Lisa Garelick received her bachelor’s degree in music business with a minor in marketing and advertising. Upon graduation, she moved to New York where she accepted a position as a project manager at online marketing agency, Sneak Attack Media. It was there Lisa gained experience in social media and web marketing, focusing on the entertainment industry, and grew a passion for emerging technology. In 2012, Lisa left Sneak Attack Media to spearhead the online marketing department for Big Picture Media where she works to build innovative and unique campaigns for each client.
Erika Clark, a highly motivated free spirit born and raised in New York, up and left to spread her wings on the West Coast in 2007. While in California, she attended college and landed a high profile internship working alongside Issa, Jad Ghandour and Charlotte Ronson to name a few. Her ipod is stacked with a variety of music including her favorite artists Chester French, Empire of the Sun, The Postal Service, The Kooks and more. Erika’s passion for music steered her back to NYC where she happily joined the Big Picture Media team in 2012 along with her Yorkie Rufus who works with her in the office regularly.
Upon receiving her degree in Public Relations from Boston University in May 2013, Shoshie returned to her fabulous hometown of NYC to join the Big Picture Media family! Shoshie has the knack and knowledge for the entertainment industry, having held intern positions at companies such as Air Artist Agency in London and Denise Rich Songs, LLC in NYC. An avid fan of the arts, she spends her free time as a hip-hop dancer, a theater aficionado and a self-proclaimed concert buff. Shoshie is a passionate and determined advocate for everything she holds dear and is excited to apply that drive into every campaign thrown her way.
Two weeks after graduating with her Bachelors degree in Journalism & Public Relations from California State University, Northridge, Natalie Schaffer was brought on to do the in-house press for Los Angeles, CA based independent record label Hopeless Records, where she handled press campaigns for artists as well as digital marketing. She joined the Big Picture Media team in August of 2013 and is thrilled to be a part of such an amazing team of publicists who go above and beyond for their clients. Her passions include music, design and anything involving Larry David.
The newest member of Big Picture Media, Stefanee Alcantar is a California native and Magna Cum Laude Honoree graduate of California State University, Northridge. What started off as a semester fling interning at Atlantic Records, turned into the love of a lifetime for music. During her two years spent at Atlantic, she worked in the PR, Marketing and A&R departments. After consistently finding herself back in the Publicity department, she gave into her natural knack for writing and pursued her own personal PR clients before joining the Big Picture Media team. Her taste in music is vast and inclusive but she is known for being a sucker for any and all things pop! When she’s not listening to, writing about, or watching music being made, she can be found shopping or watching horribly addicting reality television.
Becca Wilson dreamed of working in the music industry since she was 14 years old. After high school, she left her small town in the suburbs of NYC to move to the windy city of Chicago, where she attended Columbia College Chicago and graduated with a B.A. in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management. While in school, Becca spent any free time she had getting experience in the industry; she managed a band, interned at MTV, was Head of Events for Columbia College Chicago’s student-run record label AEMMP Records, and worked part-time at a record store. Becca puts passion into everything she does and couldn’t be more excited to help Big Picture Media clients gain the media attention they deserve.
Rebecca Kovach grew up in a small town in central New Jersey, with her sights set on New York City. Those dreams became a reality when she was accepted to New York University’s College Of Arts and Sciences. She spent three and a half years studying English and American Literature, all the while combining her lifelong passions for writing and music in a position at PropertyOfZack.com as well as a long-term internship with Big Picture Media. Rebecca still believes music is what makes the world go round, and she is excited to be a part of the Big Picture Media family!
